Family Integration Picnic

 

Participants of Family Integration Picnic could see the models, drawings, paintings other students works referring to the climate and environmental protection and visit the information point “We are energy-saving” where they could learn about the reason and results of EURONET 50/50 activities. Some competitions encouraging to save energy were organized for children then.

 

Furthermore we prepared the labels (in Polish, German and English) reminding to switch off the light and save the electricity and placed them on the walls of the classrooms, next to the light switches.  We organized also the campaign addressed to parents  informing them how to save energy. They also received the leaflets during the semester meeting with teachers.

Outstanding success of our school was publishing the article about 50/50 project in local newspaper. We also exchanged experiences with our partner school from Finland, which brought us lots of satisfaction

ECO WEEK

School theatre prepared and performed plays concerning energy efficiency and renewable energy sources. They were presented in every possible occasion, because we know that the more you repeat the more you remember. We also prepared “The evening with candles” entitled “We think about your future, Earth” and exhibition of models of ecological villages and houses.

During “Eco Week” teachers and students prepared the sport competition (in 2 age groups) checking also our knowledge about energy which caused great emotions. Our new school tradition now is “An hour for earth” organized in March. During this hour we do not use any electricity.

 

Students engaged in school energetic patrol visited recycling center to gain more knowledge about recycling and its benefits. A trip to University of Silesia for the lecture on climate and global environmental problems was organized for students of our school.
